The facilities at Thanyapura are like no other. Our sports hub and professional trainers can provide you with everything you need to be successful within the grounds. We have Olympic-sized swimming pools, a 500m all weather running track, amazing surroundings for cycling and more.
Our cycling tracks take you around several picturesque locations on the island, and off the island. You will get to experience the country on your bike surrounded with like-minded people, who want to get fit, active and optimise their potential.

About Nick Gates – Thanyapura’s Phuket Cycling Training Academy Director
Thanyapura welcomes former professional cyclist Nick Gates as the Director of the Phuket Cycling Training Academy.
Nick hails from Sydney and has over 15 years of experience in pro track and road racing. He twice competed in the Tour de France for the Lotto-Domo team and has won the Commonwealth Bank Classic and the Australian national road race title.
Nick is also a very accomplished triathlete and recently finished the Bahrain 70.3 race in 4 hours flat.
He is very passionate about setting up a strong cycling culture here at Thanyapura. During his time here, he has already hosted several new events to help grow the sport in Phuket and Thailand. These events include the Phuket Gran Fondo, and later this year he will hold The Phuket Classic Cycling Race.

At Thanyapura, we have our very own cycling studio equipped with state of the art Computrainers. These hard, but beneficial sessions are perfect for the time challenged athletes who are looking for some solid strength and speed sessions.
The CompuTrainer is an indoor machine, which looks very similar to most wind or turbo trainers but the difference is that the CompuTrainers can measure important cycling date that helps you improve your technique and training. Firstly, the CompuTrainer can meassure load (wattage), which is the measurement of power. This can help with specific power based workouts. It also measures heart rate, speed, pace and power (watts).
The data measured from your CompuTrainer session will be analysed by our Sports Scientist and you will get a written personalised report, following the session.

Experience an interactive Phuket cycling training session with one of our expert coaches and receive some top advice from industry professionals. We offer advice on how you can improve your cycling technique, nutrition, fitness level, and more; or, even for how you can get started today. We will be there to help you along your journey.
These private one-on-one Phuket cycling training sessions are perfect if you need advice on cycling, including how to descend, corner, pack ride, or you just want to be moto paced and taught by former tour de France rider Nick Gates. The choice is up to you!
